Assassin’s Creed Origins is the 10th game in the hugely popular Assassin’s Creed series. Released in October 2017, it was the sequel to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and received widespread praise. Many critics consider it to be among the best games in the series.
New Innovations in Combat
Released ten years after the original Assassin’s Creed game, Origins uses the series’ standard third-person action-adventure gameplay. As the game progresses, players have to complete a series of quests. This will result in experience points and new skills. As well as this, players can explore the environment in different ways – on foot, by boat, or riding horses or camels. Assassin’s Creed Origins introduced new combat mechanics, characterised by a hit-box system. This adds a new level of tactics to the game, as players will have to adapt their style of play to defeat the different enemies encountered along the way. Additionally, Origins is the first game in the series with an arena-based combat system, where a player can fight waves of enemies before finally facing off against the boss.
