Grid 2 is in the genre of racing video game. It is developed as well as published by Codemasters for PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and the Xbox 360, via backwards compatibility.  Grid 2 is the eighth video game in the series of TOCA. Feral Interactive, a video game publisher, released the Reloaded version for OS Xon Sep 2014.

The Gameplay of Grid 2

The game includes many real-world locations as well as cities like Paris. Also, it includes motor vehicles spanning 40 years.  It has a new handling system dubbed ‘TrueFeel’ by developer Codemasters. The system aims at hitting a sweet spot between accessibility and realism. Codemasters showed the popular game mode called “Drift” in a preview of the gameplay. Drivers are given certain vehicles before some race mode. They can unlock the others in another vehicle challenge. The player can customise car liveries using preset graphic designs that are adapted with varying shades or colours.

World Series Racing

WSR (World Series Racing) is a racing event that is highly competitive; it races at various tracks and on various continents worldwide.Also, it features a mode known as “LiveRoutes” whereby the circuit track changes without track map. The race types that are featured include Vehicle Challenges, Touge, Checkpoint, Eliminator, Time Attack, Drift, Time Attack and Race. A player assumes a new driver’s role enlisted by an investor called Patrick Callahan, to help in launching the World Series Racing by challenging racing clubs’ drivers.
Winning races against the drivers in Asia, Europe, North America as well as in established clubs gain the series more fans, leading to drivers from these clubs agreeing on joining the WSR.

Reception of Grid 2

The games received positive reviews from critics after it was released. Aggregating review websites Metacritic and GameRankings gave the PC version 80/100 and 81.88 percent, the Xbox 360 version 78/100 and 78.79 percent and the PlayStation 3 version 82/100 and 80.96 percent respectively.


Codemasters announced in May 2013 that there was going to be a single 125,000-pound special edition release of the video game, which includes a Briggs Automotive Company Mono supercar that features the Grid themed paint job plus a BAC factory tour.

On 30 Nov 2013, SIE (Sony Computer Entertainment America) made an announcement stating that Grid 2 was going to be entered into the PlayStation Plus’ Instant Game Collection and it would be free in the whole of December. It started on 3 Dec 2013.

The video game was freely available to the subscribers of Xbox Live Gold through the feature called Games with Gold.
