Totally Accurate Battle Zombielator (TABZ)

Totally Accurate Battle Zombielator (or TABZ for short) is a first-person multiplayer shooter game, produced as a spin-off of the Totally Accurate Battle Simulator game(TABS) published by Landfall Games.

Physics-based Silliness

The ‘Zombielator’ is best described as an idiosyncratic shoot ’em up survival game, which shares the original TABS’s characteristic low-poly style but combines the stylishly simple visuals with a world of chaos and zombies. There are no superheroes here, however: the Totally Accurate Battle Zombielator uses physics-based mechanics so that whether on the hunt or on the run, the normal laws of physics apply to players and zombies alike. Up to ten players can chase, hunt, and shoot at the hordes of zombies occupying the distinctively minimal landscapes, all the while operating under the physical laws of the real world. Landfall Games clearly had fun and silliness in mind when creating this game, adding some quirky, off-the-wall walking animation into the zombie survival gaming genre.

April Fools

TABZ came into existence as a grand April Fools joke, when Landfall Games declared that they were no longer working on the original Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. As such, Totally Accurate Battle Zombielator was assumed to be a fake game, with die-hard TABS fans assuming that the replacement for the Battle Simulator was a nothing more than a ‘fake’ game with ‘Zombielator’ in the title. Of course, players quickly discovered that the Totally Accurate Battle Zombielator was in fact just as genuine and as quirky as the original Battle Simulator, and just as much fun to play, while Landfall Games continued to develop TABS.
